June growth

Now we’ve had some Summer temperatures and a bit of rain at Dale Farm, all the fruit, flowers and vegetables are busy catching up on growth after a cold Spring.  Weeds and grass are shooting up too so everyone’s busy mowing and weeding.

It’s common knowledge that bees everywhere have had a tough time in the last couple of years and ours are no exception.  All our hives have survived but numbers are down  so we’ve grown some borage especially for them to feed on and give them a much needed boost.
Now that John Rimmer has retired we are looking forward to meeting his successor Colin Smith who is due to join us any day now from the Heswall Centre.
